Buenos Aires days

When arriving in Buenos Aires what surprised me the most was the size of the city, it is huge! There are so many different areas and during my visit I only had time to see a few. The centre of the city is very similar to Paris and I was told by an Argentinian friend that it is built to be an exact copy of Paris by importing the exact same stones all the way from France and even importing parisian doves, quite crazy! Since I am living in Paris I sometimes felt like I was actually there and not in Latin America. For me Argentina is the country of beef, wine and tango. I am telling you the meat here is just amazing!

Where to Eat

La Cabrera
Jose Antonio Cabrera 5099, Palermo

This place is steak restaurant it is quite busy (reserve before) and relatively expensive for being Buenos Aires but the meat is just totally amazing!!  This was the best meat I ever eaten in my life and it served with so many different tasty sauces and side dishes.

Café Tortoni
Avenida de Mayo 825 9

This place is one of the oldest coffee shops in Buenos Aires, the inside decor is very beautiful and classy with a french flair. This café is very well known and sometimes you have to queue outside to get a table. Many people say this is a must when in Buenos Aires and I can’t other than agree with them.

1810 Cocina Regional
Julián Álvarez 1998

This place is very popular among locals, I went here on a Sunday and it was super busy. They have several locations in Buenos Aires and are very famous for their empanadas, I can confirm they are delicious! Website here

What to Do

Watch a tango performance

After all it is here in Argentina where  the Tango was born. There are sometimes tango performances on the streets and there are several venues/bars where you can go and see it. I heard that Café Tortoni sometimes has really nice tango evenings.

La Boca

This is very popular tourist destination and I think you should check it out when you are here. The houses are very colorful and pretty which makes it a perfect place to snap some good instagram photos!

Dulce De Leche

When you are here you have to try some it is delicious and why not buy some to bring back home. We went to a place called La casa del dulce de leche

Eat Empanada

I loved the empanadas here and recommend you try these delicious things atleast once when you are in Buenos Aires. They can be found in many different places and come in many different flavours, so try and find whihc one is your favourite.

Casa Rosada

This is a famous building in  Buenos Aires and as the name indicates it is pink. It is located on the eastern side of Plaza de Mayo and houses the Argentine President’s office. They offer free tours on weekends for tourists, but remember to bring your passport.

Where to Stay

Palermo

Before going to Buenos Aires all my friends told me I should stay in Palermo and I was very happy with this choice. Palermos is a relatively safe and lively neighbourhood with loads of good restaurants and bars. So I woul definitely recommend you to find a hotel here as well! I also enjoyed just strolling around this neighbourhood as there are some cute streets and it is quite close to many other attractions.
