When I went to the south of France I spent three days in the beautiful city of Nice. We stayed in the old town and I absolutely fell in love with these narrow streets and pittoresque buildings, it is just lovely to walk around! In this guide I have collected my absolute favourite places in Nice to eat, drink and things you must do. I will definitely come back to Nice and if you have time I would recommend going on day trips to nearby cities such as Antibes and Eze. I never had time to go there but they are both on my list for next time!
EAT & DRINK
El Merkado
12 Rue Saint-François de Paule
This tapas restaurant and bar in the old town is very lively with a good vibe. It has a big outside area, delicious food and good cocktails. Highly recommend it!
Les Pecheurs
18 Quai des Docks
This is a nice seafood restaurant. The food is really good but be aware that the portions are not very large. The best thing about this restaurant is their chocolate mousse, this is literally to die for! Every single spoon of it was like a piece of heaven, as you can hear I am still dreaming about it.
Deli Bo
5 Rue Bonaparte
This is a great breakfast/brunch place, it is cosy with good coffee and tasty sandwiches.
Fenocchio Glacier
6 Rue de la Poissonnerie
If you like Ice Cream this is a must! Amazing ice cream in all flavours you could possibly think of.
Movida
37-39 Quai des États-Unis
I love this bar in Nice! It is a great place for cocktails and is located along the promenade! The bar has two levels with a great terrace that has a nice view. The music is good and when I was there Dj’s were playing.
Le Hussard
3 Rue Saint-François de Paule
I got recommended this rooftop restaurant/bar, unfortunately we never had time to go there but it has a prime location in the old town and looks really nice.
Do
Promenade des Anglais
This is the famous promenade by the beach. Something that has to be experienced while visiting this city and why not take some moment and rest on the beach (made of stone pebbles).
Castle Park
This park offers the best lookout of the city, it is a beautiful walk up on a hill. This should be included in your Nice plans!
Vieux Nice
My favourite part of Nice is the old town, I could walk here forever and just get lost on the beautiful, narrow streets. Most restaurants that I recommend are in this area and I would also recommend to take a hotel in this area.
Cours Saleya Market
This market can be found in the heart of the old town in Nice. It is a beautiful market which is worth to visit in the morning.
Place Massena
Next to the old town is place Massena, this is a beautiful square with a fountain where a large statue of Apollon is found.
Eat Socca
This is a delicacy of the region and you should try it while you are here, it is a sort of chickpea bread baked over fire. One of the best and most authentic ones can be found in Cours Saleya market at Chez Thérésa.
Rooftop Drink
As you know if you follow my blog is that I love rooftops and cocktails, the best is if you can combine these two together! In Nice there are several nice rooftops so make sure you visit one.
